Monday, May 14, 7:00pm - tonight – HS Band Rm - Band Booster Meeting with elections for next year’s officers. Please plan to attend. This is for BOTH schools – Middle & High school.
Thursday, May 17, 5pm Advanced Band Performance: CCMS Honors Night. Northpark Baptist Church. Musicians should be seated by 4:45pm. Young gentlemen in dress pants, dress shirt, and tie. Young ladies in a dress. We will need a Metro driver for this event. Again, if you can help, contact me or Dr. Walker.
Thursday, May 17, 7pm: Symphonic and Concert Band 2012 Spring Concert. Another can't-miss show!
Tuesday morning, May 22: Advanced Band Performance: Chalkville Elementary Graduation. Roebuck Parkway Church of Christ. Our Advanced Band will be honored to provide the music for this ceremony.
Tuesday evening, May 22: Advanced Band Performance: Clay Elementary Graduation. Northpark Baptist Church. Musicians should be seated by 6pm. Young gentlemen in tuxes, young ladies in black dresses. Another great opportunity to see our kids play! One more day we'll need a driver for the Metro. Contact me or Dr. Walker if you can help!

Chaperones, parents, and students... Thank you for all the hard work on the Walt Disney World Trip!! It was a huge success and we received nothing but positive feedback from Disney Cast Members about the Clay-Chalkville Middle School Band! We had a great time and made memories that will last forever!!

Beginning Band Spring Performance - Tomorrow Night! Thursday, April 19th, 2012!

**Please notice that there are TWO seperate performances for the
Clay-Chalkville Middle School Beginning Band on
Thursday, April 19th, 2012.**

First Period and Fifth Period:

The Beginning Band Spring Concert will be Thursday night, April 19th in the CCMS Boys' Gym. Students are to report to their seat in the Boys' Gym no later than 6:30 PM to warm-up. The show will start at 6:45 PM and be over by 7:15 PM. The students have been working very hard and are sounding GREAT! Students are to dress as they did for the Christmas performance: young ladies in dresses and gentlemen in dress shirt, shoes, pants, and tie. This concert is their final exam in band. Dressing correctly, being on time, and behaving their best are all part of their grade.

Third Period:

Disney World Chaperone Meeting - Monday, April 23rd, 2012 @ 7PM in the Band Room

On the survey you filled out requesting to accompany the band to Orlando, FL, it stated there would be an important chaperone meeting in April.

The chaperone meeting for the Disney World trip is Monday, APril 23rd, 2012 at 7:00 PM in the middle school band room. This meeting will not last more than an hour and is critical to the success of our trip. This meeting will cover critical procedural information, student group coverage, hotel supervision, bus, and group assignments.

Congrats to the CCMS Advanced Band!!!!

Congratulations to the Advanced Band for earning straight superior ratings with distinction at the Alabama Music Performance Assessment!! This is the second year in a row these students have accomplished this impossible task. To earn this rating is like having 70 students all make a perfect score on the ACT at the same time and have 4 judges all agree on all sections that it was perfect. These students have been working on this specific presentation since returning to school in January. These students were also complimented numerous times on their decorum by several parents, officials, and directors from other schools during the day. Congratulations Band members on a fantastic job!!

Intermediate and Beginning Bands, it will be your turn next year!!

We really need your help!!! Remember that High School parents can help Middle School and vice-versa.

Metro truck driving assistance needed – contact Bill Kennedy at whkennedy23@yahoo.com. It's 15' long, and has an automatic transmission. It is easy to drive. If I can drive one from New Orleans to Birmingham (yes - 15 footer) then anyone can drive it!!!
