Practice at home!!

Every player in the world knows that the secret to playing better is practice!!

Each student in the band should be practicing a minimum of 20 minutes each afternoon or evening after school at home.

Every student should begin with a warm-up of long tones, followed by material they should be trying to become better on, and then end by playing something they enjoy the most!

To work on a section of music students do not have perfected, they should be sure they understand the rhythm (counting), know each note by name and fingering/slide position, and then play the selection very slowly - gradually increasing the speed until they have the selection the way they want it.

If a student needs help with a section, they should come by the band room in the mornings and ask a director for assistance - this is our time for individual questions to be answered.

No band student should ever say they don't have any homework.   They always have practicing to do in band!

Practicie makes better!  (music is never perfect - we just try to get as close as we can!!!)

If you don't play as well as you would like to - practice more!!!!!

(just ask the section leaders)
