Pass Offs
Pass Offs are a large portion of the students' band grade.
A pass off is the student's opportunity to get heard by a director one-on-one and get the individual attention every student needs to become a better player!
Pass offs are available during band class, but more readily available Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday after school from 3:15 to 4:00 (or until the last student is heard - we'll stay as late as it takes!).
If the student is unable to stay, please be sure to mention that to a director so that we will be sure they get a chance to pass off during class.
In order to pass off, the students must have practiced the material ahead of time. Most students come into the pass off and quickly move through most, if not all, of their required 30 lines in one sitting - if they have practiced!!
We do not hear pass offs in the morning before school as this is the students' time to ask the directors individual questions on a one-on-one basis.
Advanced Band students must play their required number of scales before being allowed to pass off.
LET'S ALL GET PRACTICING!!
