A word from Bill Kennedy, Vice-President of the Band Boosters/Head Concession Coordinator:
Can you believe it's that time of year again? I want to begin by thanking each of you for your commitment to supporting our bands and their efforts to be the best they can be. It is up to us to provide the resources to combine with their hard work to achieve their highest goals.
Now, we get to work.
There are a couple of things I wanted to make you aware of, or remind you, if you've already heard.
1. This Saturday, the 28th, the Piggly Wiggly in Clay is planning a tent sale. They have asked us if we would grill hot dogs. They will provide everything if we provide the manpower. We will be selling a hot dog, chips, and can drink for $3 and a sausage dog, chips, and a drink for $4. We're looking for a couple of volunteers to help between 10am and 2pm Saturday. If you can't stay, come by and get a cheap lunch that will support the bands! Where else can you get lunch for 2 for $6-8?
2. Next Friday is the Rumble on Deerfoot, Clay-Chalkville v Hewitt-Trussville. We are planning a tailgate prior to the game, and will be feeding both our marching band, and theirs. We will also be selling food outside the stadium. We'll need all hands on deck, given that this is the most important night of the most important season of our fund-raising year. If you can help, and haven't already signed up, please let me know.
3. A representative of the Jefferson County Health Department will be conducting food-handler training at 6pm on Tuesday, September 14 in the high school band room. This is very important training that is provided at no cost, immediately precedes our September Booster meeting, and takes 30-45 minutes. Your food handler certification is then valid for 2 years. Please mark your calendar. |

Concession stand clean up day is this Saturday!! Parents of band students will meet at the concession stand at the football stadium at 8:00 AM to give it a good cleaning before we start the season. We expect to be finished about noon. If you cannot stay the entire time, we would love to have any help you can provide. There are many different jobs to do so I am sure there is one that is just right for you. I know there is one waiting for me!!!!
This stand is our main source of income and we need all the help we can get! This is how we fund having private instructors come and give one-on-one and small group instruction during the day so we don't keep students after school.
Please help!!!!!!!!
Thank you! See you Saturday morning!
Thanks to Mrs. Rountree-Sullens for setting this up for us !!!!
